New movie's.
----------------------------------------------------------
With Paramount
Pictures' Cloverfield already set to break the record for MLK weekend - $16 million Friday with $40 mil weekend estimate - Bloody-Disgusting
has learned via a regular insider that talk of a sequel to the giant monster movie is already in progress. In the film a giant
monster - and parasites from it's back - appear in New York City and completely decimate it. There is also chatter amongst
our board members that "something" happens in the final frame of the movie that hints at the progression - although we missed
it. If the sequel ever comes into fruition we have some suggestions for the title: Son of Cloverfield, Cloverfield vs.
the Smog Monster, Cloverfield Attacks!, Cloverfield vs the World, Four Leaf Cloverfield, Cloverfieldy or maybe Cloverfield
Attacks Japan!
Todat the official poster was released for the Sarah Michelle Gellar starrer Possession, which centers on a woman whose husband and brother-in-law both end up in a coma after an accident. When the brother
awakes, claiming to be her husband, she must try to understand the reality, suspecting something more sinister is at work.
Even though the official website claims the film is coming out, Yari Film Group tells us it's still February 22. Read on for
the one sheet.
Genius
Products has officially announced the DVD release of Awake , which stars Jessica Alba, Hayden Christensen, and Terrence Howard. This Joby Harold directed thriller will be available
to own on March 4, and should retail at around $28.95. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with
an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include an audio commentary, seven deleted scenes, a behind the scenes
featurette, and storyboard-to-film comparisons. Check out the art inside.
If you head on over to Movieweb you can dig on two new stills from Quentin Tarantino Presents Hell Ride, which will have its world premiere next week at the Sundance Film Festival. Writer-Director Larry Bishop will play bad-ass
biker Pistolero, (named after the original title for Robert Rodriguez’s “Desperado”) who along with his
brother The Gent and Comanche, hit the road to avenge the death of Pistolero’s old lady Cherokee Kisum, by the 666ers
a rival motorcycle gang.
United Artists has acquired remake rights to Timecrimes, the Spanish film that is debuting at Sundance this weekend and will also play at this March's HorrorHound Weekend in
Indianapolis, IN, according to Variety. Steve Zaillian is attached to produce. Nacho Vigalondo wrote and directed the film,
which was originally titled "Los Cronocrimenes." Magnolia Pictures has U.S. distribution rights to the original pic where
a man accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour. Finding himself will be the first of
a series of disasters of unforeseeable consequences.
Bloody-Disgusting
has learned exclusively while at Sundance that Matthew Knight (pictured inside) will be returning as Jake in Columbia Pictures'
The Grudge 3, which will see Toby Wilkins behind the camera. We also found out that the plan is to send the film direct-to-video.
Filming begins this March in Bulgaria. In the third installment of the 187 million dollar worldwide box office smash The Grudge,
a young Japanese woman holds the secret to ending the curse of the Grudge. She travels to the haunted Chicago apartment building
where she encounters a family battling to survive. Together they confront the ghost of Kayako to save their souls from their
impending tragic fate.
This
morning Lionsgate provided us with an exclusive first look at the awesome new one sheet for Ryuhei Kitamura's The Midnight Meat Train , which arrives in theaters May 16. Clive Barker's story, which was adapted for the big screen by Jeff Buhlerwill,
features a commuter's run-in with a New York subway serial killer and a horde of subterranean cannibals. Read on for the look
at the poster and get ready for loads more in the coming months. This movie looks SICK!
We've already begin shocking ourselves with the insane guest list for this March's HorrorHound Weekend Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to Ruggero Deotato (Cannibal Holocaust) making a first ever appearance,
our Hellraiser reunion has just taken a major turn. Clare Higgins, Kenneth Cranham and Ashley Laurence join the cast
of Hellraiser to make the next HorrorHound Weekend event legendary... even in hell! Add that to the midwest premiere
of Timecrimes (100% free screening) and you've got yourself one of the most insane conventions ever. Read on to see
who else you'll be able to meet and watch for movie announcements soon.
In our first two reviews for the widely talked about Cloverfield , we ranted about how much we really enjoyed the film and how it took us back to a time when we were young again, now
David Harley has chimed in with his opinion. His thoughts? Dead on with ours - read on for his thoughts and feel free to write
your reviews below.
We broke the news back in June that Lionsgate would be remaking the '80s classic horror film My Bloody Valentine, but no other details had been revealed to us. Today Lionsgate announced that they plan on getting the film in theaters
February 13, 2009, just in time for Valentine's Day. In the original a decades old folk tale surrounding a deranged murderer
killing those who celebrate Valentine's Day, turns out to be true to legend when a group defies the killer's order and people
start turning up dead.
This
evening we scored your first ever hi-res look at the poster for Dimension Films Hell ride, which will have it's world premiere
next week at the Sundance Film Festival. Larry Bishop - who also wrote and directed the film - will play bad-ass biker Pistolero,
(named after the original title for Robert Rodriguez’s “Desperado”) who along with his brother The Gent
and Comanche, hit the road to avenge the death of Pistolero’s old lady Cherokee Kisum, by the 666ers a rival motorcycle
gang. Read on for the poster.
In what just sounds like a crappy movie, IFC Films has acquired North American rights
to the serial killer thriller Anamorph, starring Willem Dafoe and Scott Speedman, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "Anamorph" stars Dafoe and Speedman as
detectives tracking a killer who re-creates the perspective-distorting painting technique "anamorphosis" in a bizarre series
of murders. Peter Stormare and Clea DuVall also star. Marissa McMahon's Kamala Films produced. IFC's theatrical/VOD day-and-date
First Take program will handle both releases. "Anamorph" will be released in November
Poltergeist Getting a Remake
Bloody Disgusting has confirmed that Tobe Hopper/Steven Spielberg's Poltergeist is getting
a remake via Mandate Pictures. They will produce the remake for MGM but it won't happen until post-strike, so watch for news
in 2008.
